
Creative Gros Morne in collaboration with The Old Cottage Hospital of Norris Point is excited to present you Michael Flaherty our next artist in residency from April 24th – May 10th, 2023.
Michael Flaherty is a renowned Newfoundlander artist that resides in Port Union, Newfoundland, where he operates his studio, Wild Cove Pottery.
Flaherty is a ceramic and textile artist with a diverse practice that includes pottery, sculpture, installation, and performance. His work often touches on themes of environmental and societal fragility and he pursues projects that enable him to collaborate with nature.
Flaherty’s work has been widely exhibited across North America in public galleries and museums including The Rooms Provincial Art Gallery, Confederation Centre of the Arts, The Esplanade Arts and Heritage Centre, the McMichael Gallery, and numerous others. He is a published author on the subject of ceramics and his art has appeared in many publications in the past 20 years.
