A warm welcome to Lorraine Jane Matthews, Bonne Bay Marine Station’s Artist in Residence:

Lorraine Jane Matthews was born in Happy Valley-Goose Bay, Newfoundland and Labrador. Her artistic practice is heavily influenced by the land and her unique experiences as she travels throughout Newfoundland and Labrador. Lorraine tries to live her life in the most lighthearted way possible and she believes that the easiest way to do that is though creativity and laughter. While at the Bonne Bay Marine Station, Lorraine will be creating a number of watercolour paintings and relief prints that will focus on the beautiful landscape and fascinating marine creatures. She will also be hosting fun art making activities for kids and adults (who want to feel like kids).
