Starting the week of 18 January.
Barbara Bellows will be offering two art classes.
1. Tuesday evenings 6:30-9, at the Julia Ann Walsh Centre (Old hospital), Norris Point,
6 sessions, begins January 19
Making Mandalas: Tapping into the Intuitive Side of your Brain.
The first session or two will consist of exercises that encourage you to use the right side
of your brain and to show you how powerful that can be. This will evolve into creating
mandalas or healing circles. Mandalas are made by many world-wide cultures and take
many forms. Ours will be on black paper using coloured pencils. (See my website at
www.barbarabellows.com to see examples). At the end of the course, you will have the
skills to continue to make mandalas and some of the best coloured pencils around. No
art background is necessary. Amazing mandalas are created every day by newcomers
to art!
Cost: $130, plus materials.
2. Friday mornings 9:30-12, at the Julia Ann Walsh Centre (Old Hospital), Norris Point. 6
sessions, begins January 22
Shading Objects: Creating Depth and Shape in Your Drawings
Beginning with shading exercises, we will soon be drawing still-life vegetables, pottery
and other objects. When you finish this course, you should have a grasp of using
charcoal and pencils to define shapes and light. While basic drawing skills are
recommended, they will not be necessary as I will be filling in on other drawing skills at
the same time.
Cost: $130, plus materials.
