Morgan Davis

Blues legend Morgan Davis will play on August 10 at 8pm.
For nearly four decades Morgan Davis has been on the road travelling across Canada, the United States and Europe. His performances draw from a rich tradition of country blues, as well as his own contemporary songs infused with wit and a large dose of humour.
Mary Barry

A native of St. John’s, Mary Barry is a nationally acclaimed award winning singer-songwriter who has thrilled audiences across Canada, the US and France, moving easily from blues & jazz to folk and ‘chanson’. Barry is a bilingual artist who just released her fifth independent recording entitled “Legendary”, a mélange of traditional and contemporary Newfoundland music. Recent performances include Tombolo Multicultural Festival, Tales, Trails & Tunes Festival, the Francophone Tent at the Newfoundland & Labrador Folk Festival, the St-Pierre & Miquelon Cultural Centre and the Place des Arts in Montreal. In 2010 she represented the province of Newfoundland & Labrador at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics, performing at Atlantic Canada House, La Place de la Francophonie and on the Air Canada stage.
Mary Barry is a four-time NL Arts & Letters award winner, and has twice been voted Newfoundland & Labradors’s Female Artist of the Year, as well as Jazz & Blues Artist of the Year by Music NL (the Music Industry Association of Newfoundland and Labrador). She took first prize in the CBC Atlantic Song Contest and is a three-time ECMA nominee. Charlie Barfoot will be accompanying Mary.

The Julia Ann Walsh Community Center is owned and operated by The Bonne Bay Cottage Hospital Heritage Corporation (BBCHHC). It was designated as a Municipal Heritage Site in October 2003. It received the Historic Sites Association Manning Award for Excellence in the Public Presentation of Historic Places in March 2010 and was designated in 2011 as a Place of Provincial Significance. The BBCHHC is a not-for-profit community corporation whose mandate is the adaptive re-use of the center for the preservation of local culture and heritage (including arts, crafts, music and oral history), the promotion of health and wellness, and community economic and social development.
