DanceNL is proud to present a free NL Moves workshop: Hip-Hop and Breaking with Dave Gardiner
Dave’s workshops provide a fun and creative environment for youth to move and dance to Hip-Hop music. Students are encouraged to try new moves, dust off old ones and bring out hidden talents in a fast paced, exciting 1.5-hour dance workshop. The Woody Point workshop will be open to youth age 5 and up.
NL Moves is a monthly workshop series by DanceNL designed to expose the general public to many different dance genres while promoting wellness and physical activity. NL Moves workshops are led by DanceNL members and highlight some of the amazing work and skills of the dancers and movers of the province. NL Moves workshops are happening every month throughout Newfoundland until April 2014.
DanceNL is Newfoundland and Labrador’s first sectoral dance association. DanceNL’s mandate is “to preserve, promote and support all forms of dance and dance activities throughout the province.” Formed in 2009, DanceNL is working towards forging connections between dance professionals and enthusiasts across Newfoundland and Labrador, generating relevant programs and initiatives and promoting and gaining recognition for the province’s rich, varied and vibrant dance scene.
